Boston University School of Medicine: Outreach Van Project
A mobile outreach service for the homeless that provides basic necessities
such as food, clothing, toiletries, and dental supplies as well
as basic medical care and referrals to primary care physicians and
detoxification programs.
Mount Sinai School of Medicine: (EHHOP) East Harlem Health Outreach
Program
A free, primary care student-run clinic and health education outreach
program for uninsured and underinsured residents of East Harlem,
New York. The clinic operates on Saturday mornings at a Mount Sinai
Hospital outpatient facility.
University of Florida College of Medicine: Equal Access Clinic
A free clinic run by medical students that provides healthcare to
the under and uninsured population of Alachua and surrounding counties.
Expanded services will include more medications, imaging and laboratory
tests, and dental services.
University of Kansas School of Medicine: JayDoc Community Clinic
UK medical students provide free medical care, preventive services,
and health counseling/education to the area's medically underserved
during Saturday clinics.
University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine: MedZou Student
Run Free Clinic
A weekly, student-run free clinic that will serve the uninsured
population and provide transitional care to patients awaiting appointments
at the Family Health Center.
University of New Mexico School of Medicine: Community Vision
Project
Mobile eye clinics will provide basic vision care services and will
include a public eye health campaign to at-risk populations (predominantly
American Indian and Hispanic) in urban and rural areas.
University of Washington School of Medicine: Aloha Inn Clinic
A weekly, free clinic that provides smoking cessation, blood pressure
monitoring, general health education, and social service referrals
to residents of the Aloha Inn, a transitional housing facility for
homeless adults. Expanded services will include primary care.
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine: Shade Tree Community
Diabetes Program
This project will expand its diabetes counseling program, launch
an outreach effort to raise community awareness, and establish education
and support networks to educate patients about proper diabetes care
for the uninsured and underinsured population in East Nashville.
Wake Forest University School of Medicine: DEAC (Delivering
Equal Access to Care) Clinic
A student-run clinic that will provide high-quality, free healthcare
to Winston-Salem's underinsured and uninsured individuals one evening
per week.
