The AAMC has revised its position on the physician workforce. Concerned
that demand for physicians will outstrip supply in the future, the
AAMC supports a 30 percent increase in U.S. medical school enrollment

care, representing about 1 in 4 physicians actively practicing medicine
in the U.S. and a quarter of all physicians in training in this
