Diversity
The AAMC is deeply committed to increasing
diversity in medical schools.
This commitment extends to increasing the
number of minority physicians available to serve the nation's growing
minority population, expanding areas of research undertaken by medical
academics, and raising the general cultural competence of all physicians.
The AAMC is working to increase diversity in medical education and advance
health care equity in the United States. Our efforts focus on three general
areas: diversifying the applicant pool; serving applicants and medical
students, and; supporting medical school faculty and administration.
