June 28–30, 2009 - The Fairmont Copley Plaza - Boston
We are pleased to announce that this year's annual meeting of the
AAMC Forum on Conflict of Interest in Academe (FOCI-A) is being
hosted by Harvard University, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts
General Hospital, and Partners HealthCare. To be held in beautiful
Boston, the meeting will feature four major segments spanning two-and-a-half
days, one on conflicts of interest in continuing medical education,
one on conflicts of interest in clinical care, one on individual
conflicts of interest in research, and one on institutional conflicts
of interest.
Drawing on a range of speakers across several disciplines,
the meeting will focus on the most current issues and trends in
addressing conflict of interest across the missions of academic
medicine and academe in general. Session formats include plenary
sessions, breakout sessions, breakfast discussion groups, and many
opportunities for active participation and networking among attendees.
The meeting is a professional development conference for all members
of the FOCI-A and
vice or associate deans for research, medical education, and clinical
affairs, CMOs, directors of conflicts of interest programs, faculty
chairs of conflicts of interest committees, and other officials
designated by their presidents, vice presidents, or deans of medicine
as responsible for conflicts of interest management in AAMC member
organizations. Eligibility to attend will be confirmed by the AAMC.
