Join VSAS in 2010!

In addition to inviting more U.S. AAMC member schools to join the program for 2010, VSAS is expanding availability to members of the AAMC's Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH) through a pilot program next year. Information, benefits and instructions on joining are now available.

The Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) is an AAMC application designed to streamline the application process for senior "away" electives at U.S. medical schools and independent academic medical centers that are members of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH). This service requires students to submit just one application for all institutions, effectively reducing paperwork, miscommunication and time for students and institution staff.  It was created at the request of two GSA committees: Committee on Student Records (COSR) and Committee on Student Affairs (COSA).

When can I use VSAS?

After launching in April 2008, VSAS remains open indefinitely. If you are not a VSAS user, your institution's Primary Contact must add you as a one. Once added, you will receive the "VSAS: New User Instructions" email which will explain how to access the service.

Is my Institution a Host Institution?

The following medical schools are participating as VSAS host institutions during the 2009-2010 academic year. They will be receiving and processing visiting student applications through VSAS.

If your institution is not listed, please view our Joining VSAS webpage for information, benefits and instructions on joining VSAS in 2010 (deadline is December 1, 2009)!
