    ERAS Analytics: FAQs for Institutions

    Frequently asked questions regarding ERAS Analytics.

    How do I get access? 

    Users with a Program Director’s WorkStation (PDWS) Institutional Super User (ISU) or Alternative Institutional Super User (AISU) role will have access to their institution’s reports. Users sign in with their AAMC username and password to access the ERAS Analytics page

    • ISU access is for Designated Institution Officials (DIOs). If you're a DIO and do not have access, please contact our support team.  
    • AISU access is granted by your DIO or someone else with AISU access within your organization.

    How often does the data refresh? 

    The data is refreshed daily in the morning (Eastern Time). Users can see the Last Updated date and timestamp at the top of the report. 

    How many years back does the data go? 

    Most ERAS analytics reports can be filtered by season and includes data for up to four seasons prior. 

    What reports are available to my institution? 

    • Applicant Demographics – Provides a breakdown of applicant demographic information (e.g.  medical school of graduation, gender, race and ethnicity, language(s) spoken, language proficiency, and work authorization). 
      • Data is based on the full season, current season will be as of the last update.
    • Application Overview – Provides a breakdown of application volume trends by graduation type (MD, DO and IMG), and application type (residency or fellowship). 
      • Data is based on the current day for each season (same point in each season). 
    • Race and Ethnicity – Provides a breakdown of applicant reported race and ethnicity by volume and percentage. 
      • Data is based on the full season, current season will be as of the last update. 
    • PDWS Application Status – Provides a breakdown based on application status selections made within the PDWS by program users (e.g. applied, application reviewed, selected to interview, invited to interview, interviewed, and will start).  
      • Data can be viewed as full season (current season will be as of the last update) or the current day for each season (same point in each season). 
    • Program Registration – Provides a breakdown of the ERAS registration status of programs in your institution. 
      • Data is based on the full season, current season will be as of the last update. 

    What does each filter mean or do? 

    Note: Available filters may vary by each report.

    Report Filter Filter Description or Action
    Season Filter to a specific season (some reports allow multiple selections). 
    Applicant Type Filter between Fellowship and Residency applicants. 
    Grad Type Filter between MD, DO and IMG applicants. 
    Gender Filter between gender options in ERAS. 
    Race and Ethnicity Filter between major race and ethnicity categories in ERAS.
    PDWS Status Filter between system defined PDWS application statuses. 
    Specialty Select a specific specialty. 
    Program Name Select a specific program name (in the case that there are multiple programs within the same specialty). 
    Track Name Select a specific training track (filter by Program Name first for more specific track options). 
    Select Time Comparison Select between viewing full season data for each season or the same point in time for each season. 

    How do I export or print the reports? 

    Download the current view of each report in PDF format by clicking on the PDF icon on the top right side of the report.
