Fee Assistance Program (FAP)
About FAP
The AAMC Fee Assistance Program (FAP) assists MCAT® examinees and
AMCAS applicants who, without financial assistance, would be unable to
take the MCAT or apply to medical schools that use the AMCAS application.
Eligibility
FAP eligibility decisions are tied directly to the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services' poverty level guidelines. For the 2009 calendar
year, applicants whose total family income is 300 percent or less of the
poverty level for their family size are eligible for fee assistance.
Completing and Submitting your FAP Application
Applying for fee assistance is simple. Upon submission of your FAP application,
the AAMC's eligibility algorithm will be run and compared to the data
you certified and submitted. The results of this review will be visible
on the main menu of your FAP application.

Calendar
A new FAP application is released in January of each calendar year. In
order to receive FAP credit, you must have a FAP approval for the calendar
