This updated report provides comparative data on active
physicians and physicians-in-training in specialties
with more than 2,500 active physicians. It includes
data on type of education and location, age, and gender
by specialty as well as trends over time in the number
in training and practicing in each specialty. The report
includes figures and tables and will be published biennially.

of 21 percent from the 16,488 in 2002.
