The AAMC signed a July 29 value-based care community letter (PDF) to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in support of proposed policies to mitigate impacts of significant, anomalous, and highly suspect billing activity in the Medicare program for accountable care organizations (ACOs) in 2023. The letter follows a prior effort by invested parties to hold ACOs harmless for anomalous catheter spending identified earlier this year [refer to Washington Highlights, May 3].
