The AAMC submitted comments to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) on Jan. 31 about the institute’s proposed research agenda. In its comments, the association expressed support for PCORI’s strategic planning process, which began with the release of the institute’s proposed national priorities for health [refer to Washington Highlights, Aug. 27, 2021]. The AAMC agreed that the proposed research agenda identifies critical areas for directing future funding and endorses PCORI’s intention to support research that aims to achieve health equity, is representative of diverse patient populations and settings, leverages the full range of data resources and partnerships, focuses on health promotion and illness prevention, and integrates implementation science.
