On Oct. 27, the AAMC endorsed the Protecting Our Students by Terminating Graduate Rates that Add to Debt Act (POST GRAD Act, H.R. 6077). The letter thanked Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif) for reintroducing the bill and reiterated the impact it would have on the health professions pathway and the health workforce.

The POST GRAD Act would make graduate students eligible to receive Federal Direct Subsidized Loans. Graduate student eligibility for these loans was terminated by the Budget Control Act of 2011 (P.L. 112-25).
