The President June 24 signed the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness and Advancing Innovation Act (PAHPAI, S.1379) into law. The law reauthorizes the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA) along with the Hospital Preparedness Program, the Strategic National Stockpile, and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority. The Senate and House passed the legislation last month and earlier this month, respectively [see Washington Highlights, May 17, June 7].
