    Call for Nominations: GRMC Steering Committee and Conference Program Planning Committee

    The AAMC Group on Regional Medical Campuses (GRMC) invites you to submit your self-nomination for the GRMC Steering Committee and the GRMC Program Planning Committee.

    The GRMC promotes professional growth and development, information sharing, communication, and discussion of key issues among administrators, staff, and faculty of regional medical campuses. It acknowledges the wide range of responsibilities involved in providing quality medical programs on regional campuses and the increasingly important role these programs play in preparing tomorrow's doctors.

    Individuals are welcome to apply to both committees. Nominees for either committee must be members of an AAMC member institution. The application deadline for both is August 6, 2024.

    The success of each committee depends on the diversity of perspectives that shape their membership. Therefore, we are seeking individuals from various institutions, programs, experiences, and expertise to apply to each committee.

    Nominations for GRMC Steering Committee

    The GRMC Steering Committee leads and serves its diverse membership around a common mission of supporting regional medical education. The GRMC Nominations Committee encourages nominations of individuals who are known to be broad thinkers, team players, and consensus builders from a variety of regional campus models.

    Nominees must be members of an AAMC member institution.

    Nominations are sought for individuals who will:

    • Ensure that all GRMC members feel fully included and well served by the Group's activities.
    • Champion efforts to promote the needs and interests of regional medical campuses.
    • Create pipelines to engage and connect with members.
    • Advocate for educational innovations, community health, physician workforce issues, and a rich research agenda.
    • Develop the future of the GRMC.

    Each term will begin in November 2024 during Learn Serve Lead 2024: The AAMC Annual Meeting. Decisions for the ballot will be made by the Nominations Committee and will be voted on by the GRMC membership.

    Open Steering Committee positions are:

    • 1 Chair-elect position (4-year commitment: 1 as Chair-elect, 2 as Chair, and 1 as Immediate Past Chair)
    • 3 Members-at-large positions (3-year commitment)

    Steering Committee nominations must include:

    • Agreement to the expectations of GRMC Steering Committee members
    • Statement of why you are interested in joining the GRMC leadership. (2000 characters, including spaces or less)
    • Description of any unique skills or experiences that would benefit the committee. (2000 characters, including spaces or less)
    • Personal biographical sketch as well as a CV and/or resume (nomination form allows for document uploads)

    Nominations for 2025 GRMC Program Planning Committee

    As we gear up for the 2025 AAMC Regional Medical Campus Conference, the GRMC invites individuals with a passion for medical education and a commitment to advancing regional medical campuses to self-nominate for the GRMC Program Planning Committee. The Planning Committee will play a crucial role in shaping the conference agenda and ensuring that the event addresses the needs, challenges, and opportunities facing regional medical campus leaders.
     
    Members will develop focus areas and formats, review proposals, and determine invited content. This role requires approximately 5 hours of your time per month, and you must be able to attend the conference in person.
     
    Positions for up to 7 Committee Members are open. The commitment will begin in August 2024 and conclude after the conference in June 2025.
     
    The expectations and requirements of the Program Planning committee are:

    • Capable to dedicate up to 5 hours per month between August 2024 and June 2025 for the committee
    • Have attended the conference within the last 3 years
    • Ability to review all proposals and provide detailed feedback during program review process
    • Schedule flexibility to participate in most (preferably all) monthly committee meetings that will be scheduled based on best group availability

    Decisions for the ballot will be made by the Nominations Committee and will be voted on by the GRMC membership.
