    UCLA Health Innovation Website Challenge
    UCLA Health

At UCLA Health, innovation is not an afterthought or an add-on. It is part of our history — and a critical piece of our present and our future. As health care focuses more on innovation as a driving force of change in the industry, it was imperative to create digital resources that highlight the strides UCLA Health has made in medicine. In February 2018, the UCLA Health Marketing team launched the UCLA Health Innovation website. The website became an essential part of telling our health-innovation story and promoting the first Innovation Challenge. The Innovation Challenge played a crucial role in driving new web traffic to the website while soliciting submissions from UCLA Health faculty, staff, trainees, patients, caregivers, volunteers, and students to help advance long-lasting health and wellness solutions at UCLA Health.

What was the most impactful part of your award-winning entry?

The most impactful part of our entry was the overwhelmingly positive response we received, particularly the 300 submissions for five Innovation Challenge categories.

What is one thing you learned from this experience?

The team learned the importance of organizing internal stakeholder communications to create an impactful website for internal and external audiences. Stakeholders had many ideas about the site’s aesthetic and the content needed to develop the site and promote the competition.
