This video was created as part of the Diversity Week celebrations at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity wanted to create a project during the week that would broadly represent — and reach — the Baylor community. With low funds, the graphic communications office designed and printed signs that participants could fill out with how they would complete the statement: Baylor College of Medicine welcomes [blank].” Answers ranged from the heartfelt to the hilarious, and the traits people chose showed how beautifully diverse BCM really is.
What was the most successful part of your video?
Showing that our strengths come from our differences — people from all departments and levels of involvement at BCM all have something unique to contribute!
What is one thing you learned from this experience?
People will surprise you if you give them a space to open up.
