    Medical Education Research and Scholarship Leadership Opportunities

    The AAMC is committed to developing a community of leaders in medical education research and scholarship to drive innovation across the continuum of medical education, from medical school and residency training to continuing professional development. If you are interested in developing as a leader in medical education research and scholarship, consider applying for one or more of the following opportunities.

    • Group on Educational Affairs (GEA) Medical Education Scholarship Research and Evaluation (MESRE) Section At-Large Nominating Committee Member: Nominating Committee members are responsible for recruiting and selecting candidates for numerous MESRE Section roles. More information, including how to apply, is available.  
    • GEA Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC) Program Member: MERC program members are responsible for reviewing, developing, and refining MERC program content. The MERC program is intended to provide the knowledge necessary to understand the purposes and processes of medical education research, to become informed consumers of the medical education research literature, and to be effective collaborators in medical education research.     • GEA Research in Medical Education (RIME) Program Planning Committee (PPC) Member: RIME PPC members are responsible for reviewing and evaluating the papers submitted for consideration for inclusion in Learn Serve Lead: The AAMC Annual Meeting and Academic Medicine RIME Supplement. More information, including how to apply, is available.  
    • Medical Education Program Planning Committee (PPC) Member: Medical Education PPC members are responsible for reviewing and evaluating the research and innovation abstracts and session proposals submitted for consideration for inclusion in Learn Serve Lead: The AAMC Annual Meeting. More information, including how to apply, is available.
