The table below displays the number of MD-PhD dual-degree program graduates from U.S. MD-granting schools in residency programs, by specialty, for years 2016 through 2018. The data for total active residents are also limited to graduates from U.S. MD-granting schools. Selected Finding: In the most recent year (2018), 3.4% of all active residents who are graduates of U.S. MD-granting schools were MD-PhD graduates.
