The House Energy and Commerce Committee on March 20 passed the AAMC-supported Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Reauthorization Act (H.R. 7153) in a markup of 28 bills. The reauthorization bill would allow the Health Resources and Services Administration to continue to implement evidenced-based practices for preventing suicide and improving mental health and resiliency among health care professionals and for training health care professionals in appropriate strategies to address substance use disorders.
